Fresh Garlic & Grilled Chicken Pizza

Years ago, I helped out some friends at a pizza place and picked up this incredible recipe along the way. This is my homemade version, featuring a rich blend of oregano and garlic on a savory olive oil base. With flavors this bold and delicious, there’s no need for red sauce!

Ingredients:

Pizza Dough of choice

1 large fresh tomato (sliced thin)

1 lb. grilled chicken breast (cooked and cubed)

2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil

3-4 Garlic cloves (minced or pressed)

1 Tbsp. Fresh Oregano (finely chopped) or 1 tsp. Dried Oregano

1 Tbsp. Fresh Basil (finely chopped) or 1. tsp Dried Basil

1 tsp. freshly cracked Black Pepper

1 cup freshly shredded Mozzarella Cheese

1/4 cup freshly shredded Parmesan Cheese

Instruction:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Roll out pizza dough to fit your pizza pan.
  • Spread olive oil over the pizza crust as if it were a red sauce, leaving a 1/2 inch of crust around the edges uncovered by the oil.
  • Sprinkle the black pepper over the layer of oil all over the pizza.
  • Sprinkle a layer of oregano on top of the black pepper all over the pizza.
  • Sprinkle the minced garlic all over the pizza making sure to spread evenly.
  • Spread a layer of chicken all over the pizza spread evenly.
  • Add a layer of the mozzarella cheese covering the top of the pizza making sure to spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the mozzarella layer, spreading evenly.
  • Finally, sprinkle basil evenly over the top of the pizza.
  • Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated 450-degree oven.
  • Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice, serve and Enjoy!
