Dandelion Lotion Bars

Dandelion Lotion Bars

Creating your own skincare products is a wonderful way to avoid harsh chemicals and unnecessary additives. I enjoy foraging in my backyard for plants and herbs that can be infused into oils for my skincare recipes. Many of these ingredients are interchangeable, making it easy to customize based on what’s available or what your skin needs. While this recipe uses dandelion-infused oil, I also frequently use lavender, white clover, chamomile, lemon balm, calendula, violet, mint, rosemary, or thyme. Each offers its own unique benefits, making homemade skincare both simple and effective.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Dandelion Infused Oil (recipe can be found on my page)

3-4 oz. Organic Beeswax pellets

4 oz. Shea Butter

1/2 tsp. Vitamin E Oil

Your favorite Essential Oils (optional, and measurement is based on your desired potency)

Instructions:

  • Prepare your double boiler and add your dandelion-infused oil to the pan to warm.
  • Add the beeswax pellets and stir in.
  • Stir frequently and allow beeswax pellets to melt completely.
  • Once completely melted, remove from the heat and stir in the Vitamin E Oil and optional essential oil drops.
  • Pour into molds and allow to sit overnight without disturbing.
  • Remove from molds and store in a cool, dry place.

**Lotion bars are created to melt with the warmth of your skin. Hold in hand or rub on your skin to use.

** Store wrapped in parchment paper in a tin or plastic bag if there is any chance of melting due to a warm environment.
