Easy Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream

My family is crazy about ice cream—it’s our go-to dessert and favorite sweet treat. This recipe has become a favorite because it’s quick and simple to make at home, and it’s easy to customize. We’ve mixed in our favorite candies and even added malt powder for a flavor that reminds us of a Wendy’s Frosty.

Ingredients:

2 cups Heavy Cream

1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk

1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

3/4 cup Milk Chocolate Chips

1/2 Tbsp. Whole Milk

Instructions:

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until it is almost the consistency of whipped cream but not quite stiff peaks.
  • Add in one can of Sweetened Condensed milk and unsweetened cocoa powder.
  • In a small microwave safe bowl, add the milk chocolate chips and 1/2 Tbsp. Whole Milk and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
  • Pour the melted chocolate into the other ingredients.
  • Stir together until well blended.
  • At this point, you can stir in any extras that you enjoy, such as crushed pieces of your favorite candy bar or malt powder to give it that malt taste.
  • Pour into a freezer-safe dish with a lid.
  • Freeze overnight (or for a minimum of 6-8 hours).
