Homemade Cake Mix

Living a simpler life means choosing homemade over store-bought whenever possible. By making brownies, cakes, and other baked goods from scratch, I avoid unnecessary chemicals and preservatives while enjoying fresher, better-tasting treats. It doesn’t have to be complicated—keeping staple ingredients on hand makes it easy to whip up homemade desserts whenever the craving strikes.

Ingredients for Cake Mix:

6 cups Unbleached flour

4 1/2 cups Cane Sugar

3 Tbsp. Baking Powder

1 Tbsp. Celtic Salt

Store in a Mason Jar with a lid.

When ready to bake a cake use the following instructions:

3.5 cups Prepared Cake Mix

3 large Eggs

1 1/4 cup Whole Milk

1 cup Butter (melted)

1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large mixing bowl (or your stand mixer) combine eggs, whole milk, butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Slowly add the prepared cake mix.
  • Once well combined, pour the cake batter into two 9-inch cake pans (or one 9×13 baking pan.)
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes.
  • Allow to cool completely.
  • Frost as desired.
  • Enjoy!
