Rosemary Hair Oil

Rosemary is believed to promote hair growth, and I often use this recipe to create a nourishing hair oil. I apply it to my hair and massage it into my scalp, letting it sit for an hour before washing it out thoroughly.

Ingredients:

1 cup Coconut Oil

2-3 sprigs of Fresh Rosemary (washed and pat dry) or 3 tsp. Dried Rosemary leaves

Instructions:

  • Add coconut oil to a medium saucepan and warm at medium-low heat stirring frequently until completely melted.
  • Add rosemary to the oil and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
  • Allow to cool in the saucepan until room temperature.
  • Strain rosemary leaves out of the oil.
  • Store oil in a glass jar for 1 month.
  • If using fresh rosemary, store it in the refrigerator to prevent it from going rancid, and check often for mold.
  • When using dried rosemary the oil will last much longer and can be stored in a cool dark place.
